In this quiet corner of the United Kingdom, a stray cat gave birth to a peculiar kitten named Kirlee, who sported an unusual, wavy coat. Unlike the stiff, wiry hair of terrier dogs, this natural genetic mutation resulted in soft, rippling curls that immediately caught the attention of local feline enthusiasts. At first, breeders assumed Kirlee shared the same genetic makeup as the recently discovered Cornish Rex, a similar curly-coated breed from a neighboring county. However, meticulous test matings quickly revealed that Kirlee's mutation was entirely distinct.
